Hello fellow sailors,

In this week’s community catch-up we will speak with experienced sailor and editor of the Cruising Helmsman Magazine, Phil Ross.

Phil describes himself as ‘Ocean Gump’ – just like Forrest Gump he’s done all of these amazing things in sailing while actually having no idea or skill.

However, with experience ranging from the Montreal Olympic trails to competing in the Maxi circuit to a stint with the Kookaburra syndicate for the America’s Cup, I don’t think that description is fair at all! Come along and hear from Phil himself about how he started and has progressed through sailing, as well as some funny and stupid stories from his years on the seas.

As editor of the Cruising Helmsman Magazine Phil is also highly in-tune with the sailing industry and will talk to some of the changes he’s seen, what’s next and what we can expect due to COVID-19.

I hope to see you online tomorrow (Wednesday) at 7pm AEST to join the conversation (9pm in NZ, 6:30 in SA or 5pm in Perth).

Happy (online) sailing 😊💻⛵
