MySail Sail Racing News - Sailing & Yachting News From Around The Web

Hello sailors,

This weekend I completed my Safety & Sea Survival Course recertification by spending an informative Saturday evening lighting flares, floating around in a pool and re-discovering just how hard it is to lift not only my own body weight but that combined with a full set of soggy wet weather gear into a life raft!

If you’re planning to head offshore and have not done your SSSC, the knowledge and experience of actually trying out the safety gear you hope to never have to use is invaluable to any offshore sailor, whether it’s required for a race, or not.

I did my recertification through Above & Beyond Boating and Pacific Sailing School as a blended online and practical course which meant I could do a lot of this from home on my own time – convenient both for busy people and those locked in due to COVID-19.

If you have any race or regattas you’d like to add to our event listing page (or cancellations you need to notify us about) please send these to support@mysail.team

Until next week, happy sailing, 😊⛵
