Welcome back to another edition of Sail Racing News!
With the racing season well and truly back in full swing in the southern hemisphere, I hope all of our SH readers are managing to spend lots of time out on the water.
This weekend I was out for a glorious Saturday training sail where we were able to cross-train some crew and put into action some manoeuvres we hadn’t done for a while, or at all. If you have a free weekend in your sailing schedule it’s well worth the time to get out and do some training to work out any kinks and practice those ever-challenging onboard communications.
If you’re in the northern hemisphere and pining for the sailing season to begin, here’s an article from the blog archives to give you some inspiration on how to get your crew together in between races.
As promised, I also spoke to Carl Webster from Australian Sailing to get some more clarity on the upcoming changes to rule 46 regarding crew membership. I’ve published his responses on MySail News which is included as the first article below.
Happy sailing,
Deb (MySail Founder)
