Happy hump day, sailors!
If you’re hanging out for the start of SailGP season 2, you’ll want to check out the first article below which is an extensive interview with Australia team skipper Tom Slingsby from Sails. Unfortunately, the weather forecast for Sydney harbour is very light again for the second weekend in a row, but fingers crossed the wind gods decide to kick it up a notch for the two-day event.
On the subject of light winds, this past weekend was also exceptionally light on Sydney harbour. I was out myself for the Farr 40 State Championships, which unfortunately were completely abandoned on Saturday due to the lack of wind. However, the race committee did a great job of getting in four races for the fleet on Sunday, despite a late start due to the light winds and several general recalls on the start line.
If you don’t yet have your entries in for Sydney Harbour Regatta, it’s not too late! The early entry fee has been extended to TODAY, so you still have a couple of hours to get this in.
Apologies to our non-Sydney based sailors for the focus on Sydney news in this write-up, but to round this out I’ve included several stories below from around Australia and New Zealand.
Happy sailing,
Deb (MySail Founder)
