Australia Sailing Special Regulations
Australia Sailing Special Regulations

The Special Regulations establish minimum standards for racing yachts in Australia, and supplement the requirements of government authorities, the Racing Rules of Sailing and the rules of class associations and rating systems.

The Special Regulations are published in the ‘Blue Book’ which can be found on Australian Sailing’s website.

Amendments 1 and 2 to the Australian Sailing Special Regulations have been issued to address mandatory reporting of incidents and use of codeine in a yacht’s first aid kit.

Amendment 1 introduces a rule requiring safety incidents to be reported to Australian Sailing. It increases the onus on Race Organisers to monitor and report incidents in accordance with guidelines issued by Australian Sailing and World Sailing.

Amendment 2 removes low dose Codeine from the medical kit requirements for Category 1 to 3 races. This amendment was necessitated by recent changes made by Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration.
