The 50th Running of Australia's Largest Freshwater Race Scheduled for 26 January, 2020

The Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club will be celebrating the 50th running of the iconic Milang-Goolwa Freshwater Classic Yacht Race on Sunday 26 January 2020.  It will be a spectacular finale to Goolwa Regatta Week program, starting on Saturday 18 January.

Goolwa Regatta Week is very proudly organised by the Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club (GRYC).  It has conducted the iconic Milang Goolwa Freshwater Classic since 1974 and expanded the program of events when it launched the Goolwa Regatta Week in 2012, with strong community support.

This is largest freshwater race in Australia,  and one of the classic yacht races, attracting over 200 boats with more than 1000 sailors competing on the water.  Crowds in excess of 10,000 view the race along its 50km length, on land and from boats.

As usual the race will start near the Milang Jetty, proceed across Lake Alexandrina to Point Sturt, and then downstream to the finish line at Goolwa in front of the Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club.

More than a single race, Goolwa Regatta Week will provide lots of reasons for yacht racers, casual sailors, families, friends and holiday-makers to spend the week in this beautiful part of the world.
